  1. Inside the SWG is a very hostile environment. There are extreme pH ranges at the cell plates, orders of magnitude higher chlorine levels, and high temperatures that all combine to break down many common pool treatments and render them ineffective in short order. Ingredients that are stable in this extreme environment and yet kind and gentle to swimmers are of top importance
  2. The SWG is a scale forming device by nature. Commonly used fresh water ingredients such as sulfates and phosphates contribute to increased and more difficult-to-remove scale and should be avoided.  Left unchecked, scale will reduce chlorine output and eventually prevent an SWG from working.
  3. Some common pool salts contribute to significant problems in the pool system such as shortened SWG cell life, staining, scaling, chlorine demand, cloudy water and more.
